So I told you that I will be covering Spartan fighting methods, and I will... so here I go! When the Spartan's go into battle, they have full body armor on and they improve their weapons a lot. When they improve their weapons, they make their spears longer and their shields stronger and better and their bows also better. Each Spartan is excepted to provide their own armor and weapons. The Spartans had many variations of weapons, but they had a primary weapon which was a spear called a dory. The dory was 7 to 9 feet (2.1 - 2.7 meters) in length. It was held with one hand, either over or underhand, depending on the situation, while the other arm was used to hold the shield. On the butt of the Dory, there was another head just like on the front, but on the butt. It was smaller than the front though. It was used as a secondary weapon so if there was an enemy on each side, neither enemy would come charging at full speed at the person and the person holding the dory could make the person back off. The dory overall was used to keep the enemy a good distance away, so if they come closer they will be speared. I hope that this posts very informational and was very helpful and I also hope that you enjoyed it a lot!!!!
